Welcome in Tornedalen where a thick layer of snow is waiting for you and your old fashion skies (also called the Vita Blixten), where we explore the beautifull back country.
With the Vita Blixten you are aible to manage the deep snow and enjoy the ride even more with good basic condition. We are here to enjoy the slowness of time and the mindfullness of the silence of nature. The only thing you hear is the crisping sound of snow from your skies and your breath.
For 1 week the B&B is yours as a Bed and Breakfast or as a self-sufficient appartment where you buy your own groceries. (nearest supermarket 15 km).
First we will practise the skills in the backyard of the B&B so you feel confidant to ski. This week you will make 2 tours on the Vita Blixten ski, one in the beautifull forest from Hedenäset to a shelter where we make a fire and have an outdoor lunch and warm drinks and see the beauty of this part of Tornedalen and hopefully we see some Moose and Reindeer.
The second tour will be over the Tornio river to Finland and back, there are a couple of small islands in the river which we cross and also here we have a shelter for an outdoor lunch and warm drinks.
Both tours are about 5 km long and the hole programm takes about 4 – 5 houres with lunch.
We will visit Helen’s Sleddogs for a traditional dogsled adventure around the forest and lake of Storträsk, Helen also serves an outdoor lunch and warm drinks in an old barn where you sit at the lovely woodfire to keep you warm.
Ofcourse we do some snowmobiling at Kukkulaforsen where professional guides are waiting for you to take you on this adventure, half way the safari tour they serve warm drinks and is the chance to switch on the snowmobile so every one has the same experience of driving an snowmobile.
With these activities half the week is flying by so we plan a rest day where you can explore the surroundings by (rental) car or do nothing at all because it is still your vacation close to nature to relax or Crossing the Polar Circle at Juoksengi only 30 km from Hedenäset
Relaxing will be part of the programm for a lovely Zenn evening is the sauna wich is situated in the basement of the main house.
Hopefully the sky will be clear to see the beautifull Northern Lights.

Optional activities are also possible but for a couple of them we need to know atleast 3 weeks in advance if you want to join them.
Polar Cruise with an Icebreaker in the Botnic Gulf and a dip in the cold freezing water with a special dry suit with lunch on board.
Ice fishing, drill a hole in the ice and wait patiently if the fish will bite and eat the fish or take it home
This winter there will be direct flights from Düsseldorf (Germany) to Lulea/Kallax, it takes you only 4 hours of flying to get to the northern parts of Sweden. From Lulea is it 145 km (about 2 hours) by rental car to get to The Old Post Office Sweden.
(In Kalix you will find some supermarkets on your way to the B & B)
You also can fly from Amsterdam but then you have a lay-over, Amsterdam Stockholm Lulea/Kallax or Amsterdam Helsinki Kemi or Amsterdam Helsinki Rovaniemi.
Kemi is 80 km from Hedenäset, Rovaniemi is 105 km from Hedenäset.
