Winter is already around the corner, next Thursday the 1st snow is expected in the beautiful Tornedalen where The Old Post Office in the village of Hedenäset is located. After a beautiful summer with good occupancy and now a colorful autumn, I am already looking forward to winter. After all, that was first of the reasons to move here, the many snow :-).
I am better prepared for this winter than last year when I just lived here and the first bookings with adventure program are already in the agenda which is of course also nice. Showing this beautiful region to guests in the middle of winter is 1 of the activities that I feel very happy with. On the touring skis into the forest where you only hear your own breath and the crackling of the snow under your skis, enjoying an outdoor lunch on open wood fire is yet the ultimate feeling of bliss.
Of course everyone who comes wants to see the Northern Lights, but yes it is and remains a natural phenomenon that you do not just operate with a light switch unfortunately……
Apart from the winter program you will find here on the website, there are of course always adjustments and special wishes possible, there is plenty left in this environment about what you can do if you cannot ski, for example (by skiing, the Scandinavian means cross-country skiing 😉 not the downhill skiing).
What is unfortunate is that our historic church burned down last week, a church that had been in service since the early 1700s and was very important for this region both the Swedish and Finnish sides of the Tornio River, hopefully it will be rebuilt.
Olle (my dog) also hopes that you will come here and have a look, he gets along well with (almost) all guests and also their four-legged friends because they are also very welcome.
This is the 1st newsletter of mine to let everyone experience my adventures with my guests and the fantastic environment I live in and hopefully I can greet you here at any time of year because they all have their own charm.
