newsletter #02

April 2024

I had promised myself that I would write a newsletter every 3 months, it was a good intention but not carried out because you want to write something new every time and stay original…. AND…. Sometimes you make a resolution and then a few days later you think…… Oh yes 🙂

Anyway, here is newsletter number 2 a look back at the winter season and a look ahead to the summer season.

Winter started early here, the 1st snow fell at 10.10 and has not melted until today, on the contrary, this week wife Holle is busy with her spring cleaning and whipping up the pillows again. Last week, at least 30 cm of new snow fell. In 10 days we will really be in the snow for 7 months.

My wish was to be fully booked for the winter season for at least 5 weeks with winter adventure program and then of course my regular bookings through the website or all platforms where I am registered. And I am proud to report that I have been able to run my winter adventure program with guests for 4 weeks and have also been full for 5 weeks with transit guests (so only in transit) and guests who have visited family during the holidays.

I have been able to go out with guests 5 times with my own touring ski adventure, 3 times I have been snowmobiling with guests and Helena, where I do the dog sledding, has received 3 times guests from me. My guests have also been to the Reindeer Farm 3 times and we even went to the ice hotel. They were all highlights 🙂 and in the guestbook, Google review and the platforms, everyone has written something nice about the programs offered.

It was a great pleasure to show my guests why I left for the High North, because that question kept coming back….. Why do you live here……. Well because of this….. (Imagine for a moment that I wave my arms and spin around to show where we are at that moment, in the snow by a campfire). Since I offer tailor-made programs, there was also a question if we could go to the ice hotel at Kiruna and so it happened…. The trip there was also very important for the guest and so she got a good picture of Swedish Lapland. On my Instagram and Facebook account you have been able to follow the adventures with photos and small messages and it was wonderful to share with you.

The 1st reservations are already coming in for next winter season, I’m sticking to the 5 weeks full of winter program so if you want to go on an adventure, come to me 🙂 BECAUSE I am also going to offer something special next winter from January till March (drum roll) learn to drive your car on ice and race with a professional ice ralley driver and during this stay to 2 ice roads near Lulea and Pajala to do it yourself! How cool is that!!!! So keep an eye on the website if you want to experience that.

Despite the fact that there is still about 2 meters of snow here, we are also looking forward to 5 months without snow ha ha. Berry and mushroom picking in the forest, hiking, fishing, fat biking (with husky dogs), mountain biking and kayaking in the Gulf of Bothnia. There is plenty to do here in beautiful Tornedalen.

June I’m already full, but May, July and August there are still plenty of opportunities to travel to the real far north.

From Gothenburg it is a 2 full day drive (1400 km) and then you can slowly descend again and discover a large part of Sweden, or you can go down the Finnish side. You take the plane and land on Lulea or Rovaniemi, grab your rental car and voila within 1.5 hours you’re at my place at the fika (coffee with sweets). And the days don’t end because it doesn’t get dark……

I hope you enjoyed this newsletter, if you have any questions send a message via the website or messenger on Facebook and I hope to welcome you soon as a guest here in whatever of the 8 seasons (see my Facebook for explanation) it may be……
